Goals:

  • Establish a series of workshops addressing needs identified in the Needs Assessment and strategic planning activities using traditional, electronic, and innovative delivery methods.
  • Provide a forum for nursing education and nursing practice collaboration to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Evaluate the need for changes in nursing education to meet the health care and nursing needs of the future.
  • Introduce/support legislation to improve access to and provide financial support for entry level and graduate nursing degrees.

Goals:

  • Establish strategies and recommendations to improve nurse salaries and benefits
  • Recommend innovative compensation packages to retain and recruit nurses
  • Collect data related to nurse salaries throughout SD and compare to other similar nursing markets and other healthcare disciplines

Goals:

  • Provide public education and services to the community to project the image of nursing and to help the consumer better understand the role of the nurse in health care.
  • Create partnerships and collaborate with other nursing organizations and health care disciplines to further the nursing role in health care policy decisions.
